Note from Mark Hetherington:

I am organising the Leeds 3k Track Races at Carnegie on the afternoon of Saturday 29th June (entry form attached). The format will be similar to the Golden Mile races that I put on last September: a series of heats based on predicted times (with a separate race(s) for U15s – min age 13). Race walkers are also welcome. UKA officials will be present to start and time keep, so times will be ‘official’ (each finisher will get a certificate with their time recorded on it).
In addition, there will be a ‘4 x 400m’ club challenge relay: each club team must comprise 1 M Open, 1 F Open, 1 M Vet 40+ and 1 F Vet 40+. If these runners have entered the 3k races, there will be no additional charge for the relay. It would be great to have as many PECO clubs involved as possible (if necessary, there will be heats and a final): there will be a trophy for the winning club!
Please could you bring this event to the attention of your members? The Golden Mile races were great fun, and I think that the 3k races should be equally entertaining! Let me know if you are interested in entering a team for the relay.

Kind Regards,

Mark Hetherington (PECO XC League Co-ordinator)
