The Races

The races for the 2012 club championship are (if bold click for link to entry form / info, or see www.ukresults.net for entry):

In addition to these races there are 2 other ways you can get points.

1. By running AT LEAST FOUR of the free 5k parkruns held in Hyde Park, Roundhay, Bradford and all over the country. Visit www.parkrun.com for more details. They are every Saturday at 9am. The parkruns are a bonus points scheme meaning if you run at least 4 of them on any Saturdays throughout 2012 you will automatically get a 10 point bonus score ON TOP OF YOUR TOTAL POINTS! This means even if your score is based on your top 6 races (your best 6 scores of the 10 races count as usual) then parkrun is offers you the chance to earn an extra 10 points no matter what your score.

2. Back by popular demand is the ‘Marathon Score’ (no longer called a ‘Marathon Bonus’ to avoid confusion with the ‘parkrun bonus) and again is a flat score of 15 points for completion of any marathon distance race in the year. That’s full marathon or ultra marathon of 26.2 miles or more. This will count towards your overall score as one of your 6 top scores as any other race and you can only get one marathon score each year.

Please let Eleanor, Matt Sykes-Hooban or Peter Hey know your recent PB times for 5k, 10k, 10 mile and half marathon – by recent we mean achieved in 2010 or 2011 – do yourself a favour and make sure you give us realistic and recent PB times so that you have some chance of getting close to them!  And finally, go and enter and run some races!!

Good Luck!
