The next Championship race is THIS WEEKEND on Sunday 2nd Oct – the Harewood 10 hosted by Valley Striders. They are taking entries on the day for this undulating and fun 10 miler, which starts at 10.35.

Please remember to wear your club vest and if you have not already told us your current 10 mile PB then please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can work out your points fairly.

We are delighted to announce that a [...]]]> Many many thanks to everyone who took part in today’s race, whether running, helping out on the day or supporting in any other way. We were honoured to have Councillor Bernard Atha start the race once again and a beautifully sunny morning to send the runners on their way.

We are delighted to announce that a new course record was set today by Tom Adams of Ilkley Harriers who finished in a fantastic time of 36.07.

They tell us that this year there will be a choice of 2 routes (both starting [...]]]> For fans of trail races we have a great weekend about to be upon us…

This Saturday, 17th September, is the 3^rd annual ‘Rombalds Romp’ Trail Race hosting by neighbouring club Abbey Runners, starting at 10.00am in Ilkley. They tell us that this year there will be a choice of 2 routes (both starting and finishing at the same point, and both approximately 7 miles in length): a ‘trail route’ and a ‘fell route’. They are taking entries on the day and you can find more information here.

Then on Sunday 18th September it’s our very own race, the Kirkstall Abbey 7 (length – just under 7 miles) which in the past has been known as the Kirkstall Valley Trail race and previous to that when it was a road race, the Kirkstall 10k. Hopefully you have all signed up to marshall and help up on the day but if you have friends or family who would like to run it, or you are a non-Kirkstall Harrier reading this, we are taking entries on the day and would love you to join us! The race starts at 10.00am from the Kirkstall Abbey grounds and registration on the day is from 8.30am at the Visitor Centre on site.
