WINTER TIME TRIALS

After 6 long months of cold and dark nights, Spring is now here – so they say officially??? That also means it is the end of our winter time trials – cannot hear how many are shouting for joy and see how many of you are shedding tears? Altogether we had 44 different members taking part, knowingly or not that that particular night was a time trial run. Attached is a full list of all the names and times – if you spot any obvious errors – please let me know.Out of the 44, 14 did 4 or more races. Counting up the lowest 4 positions for each runners there is a close finish with Vicki and Jonathan both on 33 points and finishing in joint 4th position. As Jonathan was always the last to start that’s quite an achievement. Finishing in 3rd place with 31 points was Adam Moger, 2nd with 27 points with a quick time and low score on the last night was Simon Boardman. Finishing in first place with 21 points was Catherine Barrett. Well done and many thanks to all of you for taking part. Trophies were awarded on the night of the Chairman’s Chase with only Simon missing so we will present him with his trophy next time we see him. Looking at the times, pb’s and which way the routes went there does not seem to be a significant trend of there being a “quicker “way.
Many thanks go to the many helpers on each night who make the organising a lot easier, with a special thank you to Jemma, who is now a dab hand at getting you all started at the correct time and suitably “warmed” up and raring to go. If anyone has any ideas for next series please let me or the committee know while it is fresh in your minds. For the present time its now into the countryside and all that fresh air to breathe in whilst relaxing on your runs. Just hope the rain avoids Monday and Wednesday evenings.
