Training Sessions & Routes

Training is on Monday & Wednesday nights at 6.50pm from Kirkstall Leisure Centre (unless otherwise stated on training schedule – see below).

In the winter months when training is after dark, we do insist that runners wear hi-vis clothing. By this we mean fluorescent day-glo type running top and/or hi-vis bib with reflective strips. We do hold a few spare bibs for those who forget theirs to borrow on the night.

All training sessions are now included on the main Events & Training Calendar (on the right of the page). You can link the calendar to Outlook, Google Calendar and iphone calendar by clicking the “Add” buttons. This will automatically keep you up to date with all the club events and training schedule.

At our training sessions we have different paced groups running the same route with the slowest at 12 min/mile pace. Groups meet up 2 or 3 times on the route and no-one gets left behind,  but we do ask that those attending training sessions can complete at least 4-5 miles at the 12 min/mile pace. Non-members are welcome to join in with a couple of training sessions to try us out before joining the club.

The club has a very active facebook group which is proving popular with many members for organising training, events, social gatherings and general running related chat. To get the latest updates on training runs, why not join the group.

Some of our members have recorded some of the training routes on Garmin GPS devices and uploaded to Garmin Connect and the KH facebook site. Here is a list of links to the route maps which give the route, distance and profile:
