A double whammy of hills (my favourite) came in the form of Races 3 & 4 in the 2016 Kirkstall Harriers Club Championships. I only have provisional results of both events so will continue to keep an eye out for the confirmation and update the results if required!

Spen20: a Pre Marathon workout or a hilly 20 mile run, what more do you want? 8 runners took on this tough course. Rose George took first place in the CC points, with Ben Coldwell with another stormer just behind to maintain his control of the Club Championship table as a whole.

Pudsey Post Hill Challenge: lets skip over my monkey-like 2nd climb video, this one was tough! 7 runners took on the 5k race that featured a near vertical ascent of Post Hill in Pudsey, with a couple of other “bumps” along the way. Rose took the full 50 points to make it 2 out of 2 in 2 weeks, catching up with Mr Coldwell. James Woodman was a close 2nd on his welcome return to running. To prove how bad my run & climb was, I came last :(. Fortunately due to the small force of Kirkstall purple I took a massive 44 points!

The provisional CC results for Kirkstall Spen20 and Pudsey Post Hill Challenge can be found here.

The latest table, with a 2 way fight for the lead, can be found here. Rose is now 4 park runs away from the lead!

Well done for everyone that has run in the past two weeks. Some awesome results! Also thanks to all the supporters that came out to cheer on all the participants, the purple army is the best!

Fancy being in a chance of winning the trophy? Next up is Guiseley Gallop 10k on Sunday 27th March, entries are still open and there will be some on the day up until 9:30am. I urge you all to do this one, not only for the CC points but for the privilege of running past the old Woolpack (Emmerdale pub). For more information see here. Don’t forget your marathon and parkrun bonuses are up for grabs too until the final race of the season in November. The full CC race calendar can be found here. Please note that Meanwood Valley Trail has been cancelled, we are on the look out for a similar race around Leeds at a similar price, any ideas please let me know.

As always, if you have any questions or queries about the results (they are provisional so subject to change) please email malcolmtaylor789@hotmail.com or find me on Facebook.
