A combined update from the Club Championship today. We have had two races complete in the last week. For Race 7 in our calendar, we had the John Carr 5k series, 3 5k races held over 3 weeks near the lovely villages of Apperly Bridge and Esholt. For Race 8, we had Leeds Half Marathon, the blue ribboned event (alongside Abbey Dash) for running events in the city of Leeds – a good place to show our running and supporting capabilities!

Race 7 – John Carr 5k Series

You had the chance to run 3 races over the same 5k course and your best time counted to your Club Championship points. We had 7 people do all 3 races, and claim their bottle of Saltaire Brewery beer complementary from the race organisers. We had another 15 runners going all out in either one or two of the races. Another successful turnout for a 5k Series! Top 3 for this race are:

Position Name H’cap Time Diff Time Points
1 Isobel Webster 00:23:40 7.91% 00:21:48 50
2 David Hodkin 00:18:51 6.56% 00:17:37 49
3 Paul Chapman 00:25:15 6.39% 00:23:38 48

Race 8 – Leeds Half Marathon

We had 25 runners in the thousands who completed this year’s Leeds Half Marathon course. We had a similar, if not, more on the course cheering! Well done to all involved!
