What a difference a few weeks make! Last time I was here I was complaining about the weather but today was positively tropical this morning for 27 of our finest at the Meanwood Valley Trail race. The 5th race in the 20 race Club Championship season and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time chasing around after you all on my bike!

Helen Burgess took the top of the podium followed by Emma Lavelle-Wood and Laura Hogg.

The absence of Simon Smith has allowed a bit of a shuffle at the top of the leader board, Peter Hey takes first place, with Simon dropping to second and reigning Club Champion Ben Coldwell has jumped back onto the podium in third (on heavy marathon legs too – kudos!). Peter & Ben are the only two harriers to compete in all five races to date – remember, it is your best 6 races to count across the season (plus bonuses etc).

Finally, marathon season is well and truly upon us (my nerves also have a lot to say about this as I rest for Manchester tomorrow) so we will be seeing quite a few members earn bragging rights to 50 bonus points in the CC. I’ve decided to hold out until after the Edinburgh marathon before including the marathon bonus. Obviously if you run a marathon after this point then it will still count in the CC, but don’t worry if you don’t see your bonus appearing for a few weeks.

5 races in and we have had 55 harriers take part.
