In a complete turnaround, from the Rombalds Romp we had one of our most popular CC races in the calendar, with 31 harriers coming out in force chasing PB’s & championship points.

Taking home 50 points was new member Alice Murray-Gourlay, with Helen Burgess and Alyson Glvoer in second & third respectively.

The top two in the league remain as Paul Newton and Patrick Nesden. Kieran O’Brien had a shortlived stay on the bottom step with James Nundy now keeping it warm. (I was probably as surprised as you to see James go from 15th to third in one week. Having checked it out, it’s all down to how the marathon bonus is applied as a replacement score rather than bonus on top – so kudos to you James! Hopefully that’ll aid the recovery a bit!)

Pudsey Post Hill Challenge is now cancelled this year, so race 17 is the Guy Fawkes 10 on 1st November. At the time of writing, 121 places were still available and as this event is usually a sell out I wouldn’t expect there to be any numbers available on the day, ergo, get entered. The same applies to race 18, the Harewood 10 (8th November, 404 places currently remaining). The 2015 Club Championship calendar will then round out with the Abbey Dash on the 15th November. This all makes for a bumper November finale!

Finally – we are now considering next years calendar. I’ll be pulling together a list of potential races for discussion at the next committee meeting – please get your suggestions in. In case you haven’t already noticed, I’m not a local Yorkshire lad, so my knowledge of alternative races nearby is pretty limited! Unless anyone has any objections or suggestions for improvement, it has been agreed that the format & points structure of the CC will remain the same next year, but by all means please get in touch if you have any ideas.

Any errors, omissions or general queries drop me a line on s.w.webb1@gmail.com or find me on Facebook. Next bonus update will follow the Yorkshire marathon.

16 races in and we have had 96 harriers take part.
