Club Championship Race 14 – Horsforth 10k – Results/Photos

Another good turn out of 22 Harriers on yet another warm morning for running. Some of our runners recorded new PBs even though this is not recognised as a PB course, so very well done to them and we can expect more from them in the future on a flatter course.

Our results are below.

The points awards table for the club championship is here. Well done to Rory “Ray” Smith for netting 20 points and getting a massive PB.

KA7 2013

Thank you to all those who ran in one of or three events today and made it a big success. The fantastic weather helped us reach a record number of runners for all three events. We had many travelling from far and wide. The regular group from Billingham Marsh House making another strong appearance.

We hope to see you all again next year.

Special thanks to all the Kirkstall Harriers who gave their time to the events both on the day and over the past months.

The results are now available via the links above. Photos available soon. We have about 2000!!! I think we will have to post just the best on here. Watch this space.

First batch of photos now available by clicking here

I think our marshals were expecting some fast runners with their race warning sign placement!

Weekend Harrier Performances

We had a few Harriers travelling far afield this weekend to record new PBs.

On Saturday, Graham and Rachel Pilling raced each other round the Rombolds Romp. Rachel won that domestic battle by 6 seconds and also came in 3rd female. Well done to them both.

Sunday was the Great North Run and we had six runners taking on the 13.1 miles in the rain, hail and wind. Here are the results including five PBs:

Name Time PB?
PAUL “I’m just going to jog round” MILLER 01:25:01 PB
HANNAH LEE 01:58:32 PB

Some great times. Good running.

There was a Yorkshire and Kirkstall Harriers representation at the Kilmacolm HM near Glasgow. Chris & Alyson Glover took the race to the Scotts and showed them what Yorkshire folk can do! The weather was very wet and windy, so Eric stayed in the car to keep dry. Chris earned a PB with 01:31:21 as well as the MV45 1st prize. Alyson did about 01:54 but her watch stopped so we have no official time yet!!
