The first of two races in this years CC over the ‘classic distance’ and it was HOT! I took the sensible option & sat in the park watching you all run around. I definitely had zero desire to try & hit the ambitious 5 minute mile I had predicted for myself!
Malcolm Taylor made his mark on the CC this year at his third attempt & takes home 50 points, Paul Chapman follows on 49 points & Chris Scott took third on 48 points.
We have a new CC leader, Paul Newton. Having on dropped 14 points off the maximum, he’s certainly set the bar high. 12 points adrift is Patrick Nesden and Adam Rhodes rounds out the podium, a further 19 points behind. Keep an eye for those who haven’t yet got their bonus points for parkrun (looking at you Burjor & Paul Glover!).
Race 12, the Eccup 10 is this Sunday, entries available here. I think they close tonight (but can’t be sure) with limited entries available on the day, currently only 38 places left online…
