On a cold but dry evening – about 6 degrees – we had 12 runners and 3 helpers – Patrick, Ben & Lucy. Maybe it was the weather, the Peco race race last Sunday – or members who were just too busy wrapping presents for the lower than usual turnout. It was also the shortest day of the year – so at least we have something to look forward to now going ahead.
We had one new name to the list of runners – Elspeth. After the usual bit of shuffling of times, Jo was the first to leave taking the reverse route up Morris & Spen lane, and down Queenswood Drive. Kevin was the first one back after taking his usual earlier start, this time only about 1 and a half minutes, and must have either been cold or feeling fit – as he did a pb of 20.57. Although finishing 1st he declined the podium finish and prize. The next 3 also did pb’s for this year, Carol 2nd in 27.53, then Therese 23.34 and Lloydd with 23.10. The other runners all finished within 4 minutes. Ryan who was the last to start finished 7th, Adam who was 2nd last to start came 5th – and sadly bringing up the rear tonight (with a bad back???) was Jo.
Fastest runner on the night was Ryan with 19.01, and fastest lady Therese with 23.34.
